What makes ME think YOUR life will change for the better?

Like you, I have many roles; woman, daughter, sister, wife, mom, RN, manager, EFT practitioner, life long learner. The list can go on. I have a ferocious sense of curiosity and unrelenting belief that life can be better. Always. Even in desperate times. Especially in desperate times.

Like you, I have been through uninvited storms and traumas. Like you, I am determined to find a way through to the other side. The way through often does not come immediately. It can be hard and feel awful at first, but eventually, between the moments of sadness and grief, anger and resentment I begin to declare, ‘this is not my resting place’, and look for ways to reclaim my power, my joy of life.

I have survived a divorce, grief filled miscarriages, 5 different types of cancer, and a stressful but enriching nursing career. I have asked questions, researched, explored traditional and non-traditional healing methods. I have moved from surviving to thriving in this world and want to share that learning with you.

If I can do it, so can you.

My personal development has demonstrated to me the mystery of our body and mind’s ability to heal, for that I am grateful. This is not something I learned as a child or as a nurse. This is not something taught in medical school or nursing school. This is not something that is taught in public or private education. At least, not yet. This is an open secret that at first glance seems odd and wooh-wooh, awkward and weird. But once you persevere and see some shifts, you realize it is a treasure.

And… I see the changes my clients make by doing this work. They are often astounded.

My First Tapping Session

I sat in my car crying. It didn’t make sense.

I had a new job, hired to create a palliative and hospice program for an elder care organization.

On this particular day a man came home. (this is a compilation of patients that I have worked with in order to protect confidentiality) He knew he was dying. The rehabilitation center where he struggled to regain strength could not change that. He wanted to die in his own bed in his own home. His wife and daughter agreed. The medical team acknowledged his wisdom and the reality of his medical condition which could no longer be corrected and they supported his wishes.

The following day, the chaplain and I arrived to find the wife and daughter overwhelmed with the events of the day, and the man restless and distressed in bed. Chaplain counseled the family, I cared for the man. Once all were calmed, and comfortable, we came together. I outlined and demonstrated the skills needed to manage the intense work of caring for a loved one at home; physical care that’s necessary when someone is unable to get out of bed, medication schedules to promote comfort, how to recognize and respond to the emotional and spiritual needs for both the man and each other. Hours later, this family, committed to their new duties with as much confidence as possible. The chaplain and I promised to return the following day.

Outside the home, the chaplain told me he was transformed by this work together. “Call me any time, day or night, I will work with you.” We hugged. I was grateful to have a passionate partner willing to learn more about care at end of life.

I got into my car. Put my hands on the steering wheel, did not turn the ignition. I began to cry. Then I began to sob. What was going on? I liked this job.

A friend recommended I see a psychologist who did “this tapping thing.” Although I practiced a few alternative healing modalities, “this tapping thing” sounded too far out there. I said no.

A few weeks later, wondering if I was burned out and ready to quit nursing, I sat in the psychologist’s office, shaky on the inside, my head telling me I was foolish and to get out quick. My heart said to stay. I stayed.

I learned that my energy, which I willingly transferred to others in their time of need and high anxiety, needed to be replenished. I tapped, following the doctor’s lead, and felt nothing but goofy. Maybe a tiny bit more relaxed? I went home and practiced what I had learned, both curious and determined not to stay in the space I was in.

Slowly, my energy returned so that I was no longer sinking into the couch at home. My husband and I enjoyed date nights as I stopped saying, “I’m too tired, let’s just stay home.” I began exercising and ate fewer sugar and salt laden comfort foods. I wasn’t feeling depressed, depleted and lonely. I got my life back.

I stayed in my job, created a sustainable palliative/hospice program and hired other staff members to assist. The important work of palliative/hospice care, helping others to live each day to their fullest, blossomed.

Why does this matter to you?

Over the past 15 years I have studied and trained with leaders in the field of energy work and tapping. I’ve become skillful in this work as proclaimed by those I’ve worked with. I love to share tapping with people of all ages, from toddlers to centurians. The healing possibilites that are within each of us are magnificent.

Everyone has access to abilities for self recovery/healing. Even you.

My four decades as a nurse have taught me to be skeptical, as a new nurse in critical care I paid attention to every detail of sustaining life. In hospice my mind opened to allow curiosity beyond what is learned in books. In addition, the interruption of life with my own cancer experiences thrust me further into the world of alternative healing for mind, body and spirit. I bring all of this with me in my work with you.

This work is not for everyone, but, those who dare to do the work run the risk of transformation. The work is deep, sometimes gritty, sometimes silly. You are always empowered and safe.
